What helps me stand out as a designer

I’m a creative problem solver and it’s rare that I can leave questions unanswered or mysteries unsolved. Coworkers have often counted on me to figure out why software is weirdly misbehaving or html code isn’t showing correctly. I enjoy figuring out the “why” behind issues, while also working through the challenges to find the right solutions for design problems.

Hands-on printing, cutting, & bindery

I operate my own handmade stationery and paper gifts company. In this business I use a variety of print finishing processes, such as trimming, folding, and binding, to create unique paper products. My experience with Adobe Illustrator and vector illustration allows me to create original cut files for products such as envelopes and gift boxes, manipulate typography for unique cards, and even create my own wax stamps. All this hands-on work strengthens my graphic design skills by giving me a strong understanding of how design decisions affect a final piece.
